Call for Applications: Growth Acceleration Program (Phase I)
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has positioned "Global x Scale-up" as a new pillar of its initiatives within the "Global Innovation Strategy 2.0 STARTUP & SCALEUP," which was updated in November 2025 (Reiwa 7). We are committed to promoting support for companies aiming for dramatic growth on a global stage.
Under this strategy, "SusHi Tech Global" provides intensive support to promising startups alongside diverse, front-line supporters. Last year, we selected the first batch of 28 companies for "SusHi Tech Global Startups" and are providing support tailored to each company's growth stage based on their current situation and challenges. We plan to select startups sequentially to form a cohort of approximately 100 to 150 companies.
We are now announcing the "Growth Acceleration Program (Phase I)" (hereinafter referred to as "the Program"). This program provides financial support and customized hands-on support to startups within the "SusHi Tech Global Startups" who are expected to scale up rapidly by expanding globally at this timing.
1. About the Program
Among the "SusHi Tech Global Startups," this program invites projects that lead to global growth for a maximum of 18 months. By providing financial support of up to 200 million yen and customized hands-on support for the selected projects (up to 10 cases), we aim to realize the global scale-up of startups.
2. Support Content
【Customized Hands-on Support】
The following support menus will be customized according to the needs of the selected startups and provided at the necessary timing:
Support in the four essential elements for Global x Scale-up (Information/Network, Fundraising, Business Strategy, Organization/Talent).
Planning and provision of overseas travel programs.
Wide-ranging support in collaboration with diverse supporters.
For the "AI x 4 Domains" (Mobility, Healthcare, Energy, Next-Generation Computing) focused on by the program organizer, support leveraging the organizer's expertise and global network will be provided.
【Financial Support (Up to 200 million yen)】
TMG will provide financial support of up to 200 million yen per selected project as a grant (agreement money). Payments will be made after an agreement is signed between TMG and the selected startup. The final amount will be determined based on the achievement of KPIs set by each company, serving as an incentive for producing results.
3. Requirements for Projects (Projects leading to "Global" and "Scale-up")
The following projects are the primary targets for support:
Projects that significantly contribute to global growth.
Projects that bring about a large economic and social impact.
Bold challenges that effectively utilize financial support from TMG.
4. Program Schedule (Tentative)
